About EOSA

An alumni network rooted in technical education.

EOSA brings together the alumni of the École Normale Supérieure de l’Enseignement Technique (ENSET) of Douala and its annexes — a network of technical educators, inspectors, professionals and entrepreneurs working to turn competencies into impact.

Our story

From a forum of alumni to a national initiative.

  1. Origins

On 11 September 2022, what began as a WhatsApp forum of around a hundred ENSET alumni became a formal association. Initially imagined as a fellowship of retirees, the founders chose instead to unite every existing and future cohort of the school under one structure.

  2. Choosing the name

Drawing on the expertise of anglophone colleagues, the founders selected "Old Students" over "Former Students" — a name that works as a brand and reflects an entrepreneurial orientation. In technical and teacher-training schools, learners are "élèves" who acquire a trade, hence "Old Students" — anciens élèves.

  3. A complete strategy

After six months of debate on its objectives, the association adopted a full strategy: a vision, a set of missions and shared values. As an apolitical, non-profit association governed by Cameroon Law n°90/053 of 19 December 1990 on freedom of association, its motto is Solidarité · Humanisme · Équité.

  4. An entrepreneurial orientation

Beyond mutual support, EOSA is oriented toward entrepreneurship. Members chose to advance through the association before launching commercial activity, and proposed OS HOLDING as the vehicle for its first entrepreneurial initiatives.

  5. An educational community

While the association gathers all ENSET graduates without distinction, it unanimously chose to keep teaching as its core activity — mobilizing members’ competencies to contribute to an ever-improving quality of education for learners, and animating an educational community around ENSET.

  6. A regional structure

On the founders’ recommendation, EOSA is organized through regional branches (Antennes Régionales). The Littoral branch was the first to establish a bureau, with headquarters in Douala.
